David has always been an avid music lover and started playing at an early age. He got a solid foundation with piano, and then moved to drums to start a band with friends. Somewhat frustrated by the stationary nature of the drum set, he picked up the guitar and bass to gain some freedom of movement. Since then he has picked up other instruments such as tabla, bongos, djembe, and harmonica. David is mostly self-taught, has a knack for picking up new instruments, and looks forward to learning more.
David has played various roles in seven bands, has done a number of other one-off performances, and has written or collaborated on many songs. In the summer of 2002, he toured the western U.S. with the insane indie-art-core-math-rock-west-side-polka power trio The Bruté Medium (R.I.P.). After the breakup of his last band, David decided to go solo.
As his ear has developed, David has become increasingly aware of what makes for good tone. He began studying audio theory and production and loves the art and science of bringing to people’s ears what he hears in his head. He is working to establish a workflow that minimizes the time it takes to go from musical idea to finished product.
In addition to music, David also works as a sustainability consultant. Please visit http://www.GreenEvolutionConsulting.com.
